Fundamentals: Cloud-Based
The first of the three fundamentals, is that ICE Health Systems is cloud-based.
Cloud-based means that:
To access your environment, you open Google Chrome and login into your account.
- You don't have to install and update a special ICE Health Systems app on your computers and devices.
- You don't have to be at your practice, you could be at home, on the road, etc.
- You could be on a desktop computer chair side, a laptop in your office, or a mobile device in a taxi.
There is no server running in your office.
- ICE Health Systems manages your server.
- Hosted through AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- This includes redundancy, backups, speed, and upgrades.
You can have a primary environment for real work, and a separate training environment.
- A training environment is useful for exploring new features or training staff without affecting your primary environment's configuration and data.
Security is considered at every level.
- Not "just" some encryption sprinkled around, or having usernames and passwords.
- Considered in every aspect of the system. Designed from the ground up with security as a core requirement.
- Want to make sure people can use and enjoy the latest technologies in a secure manner.
- More than just the system, includes the internal policies and procedures for our daily work.
- As a company and a system, we've gone through multiple 3rd party audits of our security.
- 3rd party audits and certifications help reassure you that we follow the certification's recommendations.
- So you can have peace of mind and focus on enjoying the system.
- We are currently seeking ISO 27001 certification.
- It specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving information security management.
These examples of what a cloud-based system enables can change how you approach your role as an expert or new user.
When you are completing the core activities — learning, brainstorming, and resolving — keep these examples in mind or refer back to this list.
Next, explore the second fundamental concept: updated regularly.
